THE BROOKLYN PENTHOUSE

A DRL DESIGN PROJECT

When we designed this Brooklyn penthouse, we had a few things in mind:

Cozy vibes. Beachy nod. Muted wood tones. 1940s industrial accents. Filament bulbs. Dark metal. Blank walls. Air. Contemporary Art. Form & function. Graceful technology. High ceilings. Lightness & darkness. The view. Indoor & outdoor. Egyptian revival. Factory chic. Mid-century lite. Contemporary details. A pop of color. Gold where it counts. 800 square feet. A lot from a little.

This is what we took into the project of fully renovating a penthouse apartment in Williamsburg, Brooklyn to be our off-season home base.

We shot the campaign the way we live the space: casual, comfortable, design-conscious, open.

And if you’re curious about the bathroom walls, there isn’t a shred of wallpaper in this apartment: it’s real Venetian Plaster, and it’s not as hard as you think. Start with this, watch this video, and get to work on your own!
