WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
There’s a ton of ways to discover restaurants that are worth trying, and, if worthy, featuring on DRL. How did we do it for Smokin’ Wolf? We smelled it. From the street. And it smelled delicious.
Literally riding motorcycles to Montauk, we’d look up and be like what? Where is that delicious barbecue smell coming from? And we found our answer in Smokin’ Wolf.
Owned and operated by veteran east end BBQ chef Arthur Wolf, his Smokin’ namesake serves up some of the best barbecue we’ve ever had anywhere in the country. While you’ll find all the usual staples like brisket and ribs, take the opportunity to try the barbecued duck, which is something you might only find on Long Island. The hushpuppies make for a great starter, and the pulled pork quesadilla–with its accompanying mango and bbq sauce–are not to be missed.
Pro tip: ask for a side of mango salsa. And then get some (sold by the pound) to go for later.
