WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
If there’s we learned from Game of Thrones, it’s that “what is dead may never die.” And despite its closure in 2016, the memory of the legendary Cyril’s Fish House lives on in its successor, Morty’s Oyster Stand.
While it’s not really much of a “stand” (more like, restaurant), and unfortunately bears no connection to “that show” on Cartoon Network, Morty’s does a great job of bringing back the good times on the Napeague stretch of Montauk Highway leading into the ‘tauk. There’s a throwback nod to Cyril (the man himself) in the form of the wallpaper inside, but the real reference to be thankful for is the BBC (that’s a “Bailey’s Banana Colada,” for you rookies) safely planted on the cocktail menu.
Now, Morty’s brings a lot to the table besides keeping Cyril in our memories, with a menu including, of course, fresh oysters, but also steamed mussels and a black bass ceviche that’s not to be missed.
Pro-tip: Do we really need to say it? The BBC, on the hottest of summer days. Go.
