WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
We’ve heard people say things like “there should really be a Dos Caminos out east.” And if you, like them, think good Mexican food can only be found at a big brand NYC resto, we pity you. You’ve never been to La Hacienda.
Just like in the city, the best Mexican food out east is often found at places you might skip right by. They’re small, affordably priced mom-and-pop joints with a small, if any, online presence because the folks running the joint prefer to focus on what makes them truly excellent: their food.
La Hacienda in Southampton is a place you’ve probably driven by a dozen times. And if they’re not already on your regular roto of places to eat in the Hamptons, you’re missing out big time. Offering some of the best Mexican we’ve ever had (ever.), These guys do tacos, burritos, quesadillas that are perfect for after a long day spent in the water. They’re also an excellent way to fuel up before a surf (they do breakfast), and an order of chips and guac to go is almost a staple for our beach coolers.
Pro tip: horchata and huevos rancheros for breakfast.
