MONTAUKILA
Summer 2021 = the end of quarantimes? If so, definitely the start of drinking times. And we can’t think of a better local brand to support than Montaukila.

For anyone who questions the international flair of Highway Restaurant in East Hampton, check out this interview with their Zambia-born head bartender, Fred Kumwenda.
For those of you still whining about the closure of Indian Wells Tavern, stop it. It’s embarrassing. Head into its replacement, Main Street Tavern, and have Cory make you a big boy/girl drink to cry into. You’ll thank us later.
The pandemic’s brought about a lot of changes, including to the way we do Montauk. New biz Hello Coco is about to be at the center of that.
Is your current fave bartender Cordon Bleu-trained? Didn’t think so. Chef Arie Pavlou’s culinary pedigree shines in his barcraft, yielding novelty and delight with every drink he mixes.
Armin & Judy is a chic new Mediterranean restaurant in Bridgehampton that you can’t miss this summer.
The team at Carbone opened a pop-up in the Hamptons and we can’t be more here for it.
Nothing.
(Ok, maybe air, but it’s a close one.)
In our Food & Drink section, we cover the latest and best eats and bevs out east, in the city and all over the world. From brand new restaurant openings in East Hampton, to the under-the-radar sushi place in Osaka you just have to know about, if it’s legit and of interest, it’s on here.
Being based in the Hamptons, of course you’ll find more east end-related food & drink content on here than anything else. If a new upscale bar or restaurant is opening, we’ll probably cover it. That doesn’t necessarily mean it merits being one of our Top Picks–that’s a standard only few can reach–but it’s still probably worth telling you guys about, and y’all can see for yourselves.
But what’s more, being foodies and burgeoning mixologists ourselves (ok, that last one might be a stretch, but we do love drinking fancy cocktails), we have this insatiable urge to cover the best in food & drink culture worldwide. From hole-in-the-wall temples to culinary excellence in far-flung locations, to the corner pizza shop in Brooklyn that just happens to make a damn fine slice, we just might write about it for you. Because who knows when you’ll randomly be in Saigon and craving the best bánh mì the city has to offer?
What? This year? Okay, shoot. We’d best get to writing…
See y’all out there, and thanks for reading.

Dune Road Lifestyle was founded to bring you the best of the Hamptons: all killer, no filler. We take a minimalist, details-focused approach to product, travel and lifestyle journalism that most sites, well, don’t. We don’t bombard you with a million ads and pop-ups. We don’t invade your e-mail. We want our site to be like the Hamptons itself: easy, refreshing, and chic.
